National Cherry Blossom Festival runs until April 14, 2024 at the Tidal Basin

Washington, D.C. is the place to be when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom!  The most famous place to experience cherry blossoms is at the Tidal Basin an easy walk from the National Mall. If you're at the Lincoln Memorial, Second World War Memorial, or Washington Monument, it's about a 5-minute walk (0.5 mile). It's about a 20-minute walk (1.2 miles) across Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, D.C., and celebrates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan.
